Game 3 of the best of 3 between the Coquitlam Adanacs and the New Westminster Salmonbellies will take place on Tuesday the 1st of August at the Coquitlam Main Arena at 8:30

WCJLL wins the All Star Game

The WCJLL All Stars beat the PNJLL All Stars 19 to 13 in a very exiting wide open Jr B lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon June 10th at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

Tim Turnbull of the Pt. Moody Thunder won the game MVP. Tim finished with 3 goals and 6 assists

Ben Cawthorne of the Nanaimo Timbermen was the MVP runnerup. Ben finished with 5 goals

The Annual All Star game between the PNWLL and the WCJLL will be June 10th at 12:30 at the Ladner Leisure Centre. This year the Robert Orr Memorial Trophy will be presented to the winning team.

New Format for Web Site

We are trying a new format for the Web Site this year.

As you can see there are 3 sets of Division Standings shown on the Home Page.

These represent 3 Leagues (called divisions on this site) in the Province. If all goes well you should be able to click on the 3 Divisions and go to their home page.

I will be making adjustments and tweaks to the site as I find mistakes

With the playoffs set to start in a few days the tie breaker rules have come into question.The first tie breaker is head to head competition. Poco finishes ahead of Burnaby by virtue of their 2 wins over Burnaby.The standings on this web site are automatically done in Alphabetical order for ties by the Teamopolis Web Based Program.

Battle of Unbeaten Teams

Wednesday Night at Queen's Park saw the last 2 undefeated teams go head to head for first place. New Westminster went ahead 3-0 in the 1st before Coquitlam closed out the period. The Bellies outshot the Adanacs 24-17 to take a 3-1 lead into the 2nd. Coquitlam scored a power play goal early in the 2nd to close the gap to 3-2 but the Bellies got that back 35 seconds later. Coquitlam peppered New West's goalie Shaun Couzelis with 22 shots netting 3 goals while Coquitlam's Adam Hartle faced only 10, letting in 2. New West took a 5-4 lead into the final frame. The 3rd period was all Coquitlam after both Chris Turenne and Cody Reed scored 2 short handed goals to finally take the lead at 6-5. Final score the Adanacs 8 and the Bellies 6 in a fast paced, exciting game. Both goalies were outstanding with the final shot count By Coquitlam 59 and New West 50

The 2015 WCJLL season will start on April 17 with 10 teams. Burnaby Lakers are back this after 1 year off but as a combined team with N. Vancouver for 1 year and Langley Warriors are also back but as a combined team with Surrey for 1 year

I am working on the schedule and have it done to May 10th.
This year we are having League games in POCO on Easter weekend. There will be 5 games on Saturday and 5 game on Sunday. Game Times are Saturday 1:30, 4:15 and 7:00 in the Green and 1:30 and 4:15 in the Blue Arena. Sunday will be 1:30, 4:15 and 7:00 in the Blue and 1:30 and 4:15 in the Green Arena.

Jesse Rumeo scored 23 seconds into double overtime in Game #3 to lift the Delta Islanders to a 11-10 win in the deciding game over the Coquitlam Adanacs.

Justin DaSilva scored 3:41 into the 2nd overtime period to give the Adanacs a 9-8 victory over the Islanders in Ladner to knot up the best of 3 at 1 win each. Game 3 goes Tuesday July 31st at 8pm in Ladner.

Coquitlam Advances to Final
The Coquitlam Adanacs advanced to the WCJLL Finals with a 7-5 win over the Richmond Roadrunners at the Minoru Arena in Richmond on Wednesday night.
Richmond called both Adanac goalies on their equipment in the 2nd period. An Adanac player (Colin McGregor) stepped up and played goal for the 3rd period
Coquitlam will face either the Delta Islanders or the Pt. Moody Thunder

Playoffs
This is going to be a great week for Junior B Lacrosse with every game having play-off implications. So far the only positions confirmed are Delta in first place, Coquitlam or Richmond in 2nd or 3rd (Coquitlam has tiebreaker over Richmond) Ridge is 4th and Pt Moody is 5th New West in 6th and Burnaby in seventh.

Gibsons Game Cancelled
We regret that the game in Gibson for Saturday June 16 has been cancelled for this year.

We will again have a league game on the Sunshine Coast with the N Shore Eagles playing the POCO Saints on June 16th in Gibsons at 1:30.
The All-Star game is in Saanich this year on July 1st. Each team will send 2 players

2012 WCJLL Season
First League meeting of the year was held on Jan 25th at the BCLA office. So far there will be 11 teams again this year. The North Shore team is under new management and will be called the Eagles. The Preliminary schedule will be out by the Middle of March 2012.

Playoffs Start July 12th
Round 1 of the Playoffs will start on July 12th. They are a best of 3 series with 1st (Pt Moody) playing 8th (Burnaby), 2nd  (New West) playing 7th (Poco), 3rd (Coq) playing (Ridge) 6th and 4th (Delta) playing 5th (Rich).
 Ridge has the tie Breaker over Poco.

Round 2 is also a best of 3 starting on July 17th

The finals are a best of 3 and will start on July 23rd

The winner of our league will travel to the Provincials in Kamloops Starting on July 29th

The Richmond Roadrunners will play a League game against the Burnaby Lakers in Gibsons BC on June 11 at 1:30. The Sunshine Coast has hosted a Junior B League game for a number of years and our teams look foward this road trip every year.

New West Wins League
The New Westminster Salmonbellies defeated the Pt. Moody Thunder 6-4 in game #3 to take the 2010 League Championship. The Bellies were lead by Ryan Chan's 2 goals & 1 assist and Goaltender Jesse Dodds and his 39 saves. Cam Patterson of the Thunder also had 2 goals and 1 assist while 'Tender Nick Healy made 50 saves in the loss. Both teams meet again this Friday in the opening game of the Provincials in Langley at 5:00 pm

At our January League meeting Port Moody was voted into the WCJLL for the 2009 season. Richmond was also conditionally voted in as well, pending numbers of players. So as long as all of last years teams remain this will bring our league to a total of 11 teams.

Coquitlam Wins 2008 League Championship

Coquitlam with a 6-3 win over Poco in the deciding game takes the WCJLL Championship. They now leave for Prince George this weekend for the Provincial Championships.

The Port Coquitlam Saints will represent BC at the Founders Cup in Guelph later on in August.

Coquitlam shuts out Poco 8-0 to even series
Coquilam, led by Justin Thomas with 2g & 2a and Jeff Matheson with 4 helpers shut out the Poco Saint 8-0 Tuesday night in Coquitlam. Chris Sidel and Scott Redwood combined for the shutout. Ryan Ward faced 51 shots in net for the Saints.
The final game will be Wednesday night in Poco at 8pm

Poco wins Game #1 in OT
Poco came back from a 1-4 deficit in the 3rd to beat Coquitlam 5-4 in Overtime.
Game #2 is in Coquitlam Tuesday night at 8pm. Game #3 if necessary will be in Poco Wednesday at 8pm.

Also please note that the League Awards will be announced and presented in between the first and second periods of Game 2 in Coquitlam.

Coquitlam beats New West in Game #3
The Adanacs blew the game wide open in the second scoring 6 times to take games #3 10-2 and the series win over the Salmonbellies. They now travel to Poco Sunday to face the Saints at 7pm.

New West ties the series with Coquitlam
New Westminster tied up their series with Coquitlam with a 4-3 win at Queens Park Wednesday.
The series moves back to Coquitlam for a Thursday Night series finale. The winner moves on to face the Pococ Saints in a best of 3 WCJLL Championship Final.

POCO takes Burnaby 2 games to 0
Poco beat Burnaby in their Round #2 Series two straight. Curtis Steedsman with 3 goals led the Saints in game 2. Goalie Ryan Ward backstopped Poco making 49 saves on 52 shots. Kyle Isherwood turned aside 53 of 60 shots for the Lakers.
